Maple Lake High School Graduation Requirements
To receive a diploma from Maple Lake High School, you must meet the following criteria; Grades 9 through 12 must enroll in 48 semester courses and earn a minimum of 90 credits.
- Minimum 8 semesters of English
- 2 English 9
- 2 English 10
- 1 American Literature in grade 11
- 3 English electives in grades 11-12
- Minimum 6 semesters of Math
- Minimum 6 semesters of Science
- 2 Earth & Space
- 2 Biology
- 2 Science in grades 11-12 (Must include Chemistry in the Community, Chemistry or Physics)
- Minimum 7 semesters of Social Studies
- 2 Civics
- 2 U.S. History 10 Part 1 & 2
- 2 World History Part 1 & 2
- 1 Politics / Economics
- Minimum 1 Semester of Fitness or Lifetime Wellness
- Minimum 1 Semester of Health
- Minimum 2 Semesters of an Art Performance Class
- Minimum 1 Semester of a Personal Finance class starting with students who began 9th grade in the 2024-
- 2025 school year.
- Additional 16 semesters of elective credits

HONOR ROLL DETERMINATION
After each quarter, a “B” Honor Roll is published including names of students whose average for the quarter is 2.670 or higher. Also, an “A” Honor Roll is published, including names of students whose average for the quarter is 3.670 or higher. Membership on an honor roll is determined by finding the average value of all grades earned per quarter. To be included on the Honor Roll, students must carry a minimum of five ranked courses. The point value for each grade is as follows in the table below:
A 4.000 C 2.000
A- 3.670 C- 1.670
B+ 3.330 D+ 1.330
B 3.000 D 1.000
B- 2.670 D- 0.670
C+ 2.330 F 0.000
4 YEAR COLLEGE REQUIREMENTS
- 4 years of English - 9, 10, 11, 12
- 3 years of Math during grades 9-12 - Algebra, Adv. Algebra & Geometry
- 3.5 years of Social Studies-Civics, US History, World History pt 1 & 2, US Politics/Econ
- 3 years of Science during 9-12- Earth & Space, Biology & Chemistry or Physics
- 2 years World Language
POST SECONDARY ENROLLMENT OPTIONS

*Minnesota Statute 124D.09, subdivision 7, requires public school students to inform the district by May 30 of each year of the pupil’s intent to enroll in postsecondary courses during the following school year to assist the district in planning. A pupil is bound by notifying or not notifying the district by May 30 for fall enrollment and October 30 for spring enrollment.
